City of Marble Falls, Texas
Halff was selected for the development of construction remodeling plans for three of Marble Falls’ public parks. The scope included demolition plans, drainage and water quality design, utility relocations and placement, and roadway and parking design. This was all on a truncated timeline, to enable the bidding and selection process to complete the effort prior to the lake draw down scheduled at the new year.
Demolition was highly coordinated to afford the City the opportunity to personally demolish much of the existing facilities as a cost savings strategy. Grading, drainage and water quality design was done in accordance with the City of Marble Falls, Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), and Highland Lakes Area design standards. Utility improvements included water and wastewater relocations, as well as the placement of a re-use waterline for future irrigation facilities.
Roadway and parking design included redesign and replacement of 800 linear feet of entrance road and addition of paved parking facilities at Lakeside Park, selective removal, refinishing and placement of paved parking facilities at Johnson Park, and the replacement of existing boat ramp with addition of parking at Hays Park.
Design efforts resulted in the development of construction plans, specifications & estimates (PS&E) for roadway placements/improvements, relocation of utilities and the installation of public recreational facilities. Project included significant coordination with USACE and LCRA concerning permitting for construction on the banks of the LCRA.
